1. Who we are

This site is operated for the Melanie Newman Salon Essentials brand. Two organisations are responsible for your personal data (“controllers”):

  • Mutney’s Professional Pet Care Ltd (company no. 06511604), registered office 2 St Chad’s Cottage, Primrose Lane, Prees, Whitchurch SY13 2EH; trading from Rosehill Industrial Estate, Stoke Heath, Market Drayton TF9 2JU, UK — the seller of record, responsible for processing your order, payment, delivery, returns and customer service.   • Melanie Newman Salon Essentials Pty Ltd, Australia — the brand owner, responsible for operating this website, marketing communications you have opted into, and product and grooming support.

For any question about your data you can contact either of us; we will coordinate a response.

2. What we collect

  • Identity and contact: name, email, phone, delivery and billing address.
  • Order and account: products bought, order history, subscription details, returns and support messages.
  • Payment: handled by Shopify Payments / your card provider — we never see your full card number.
  • Technical and usage: IP address, device and browser, pages viewed, and cookie identifiers (only with your consent for non-essential cookies — see section 7).
  • Marketing preferences: whether you have opted in to email or SMS, and your interactions with our emails.

3. Why we use it and our lawful basis

4. Who we share it with

We share personal data only as needed to run the store:

  • Mutneys Professional Pet Care Ltd — receives your order and delivery details to fulfil and support your order (as a controller, see section 1).
  • Shopify — hosts the store and processes payments (Shopify Payments).
  • Delivery couriers — name, address and contact number to deliver your parcel.
  • Klaviyo — sends our marketing emails/SMS if you have opted in.
  • Appstle — manages Subscribe & Save subscriptions.
  • SELLY — applies multi-buy discounts in the cart.
  • Pandectes — records your cookie-consent choices.
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — advertising measurement, only if you accept marketing cookies.
  • Mutneys’ order-management and warehouse systems used to pick, pack and dispatch orders.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Melanie Newman Salon Essentials is based in Australia, and some providers (Shopify, Klaviyo, Meta) process data in the United States and elsewhere. Where personal data leaves the UK we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement/Addendum or UK adequacy regulations, and on the providers’ own safeguards. You can ask us for details of the safeguards used.

6. How long we keep it

  • Order and transaction records: 7 years (tax and accounting law).
  • Account data: while your account is active, then deleted or anonymised on request.
  • Marketing consent and unsubscribe records: for as long as you are subscribed, plus a suppression record so we don’t contact you again.
  • Cookie-consent logs: 12 months.
  • Customer-service correspondence: 3 years.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to make the store work (cart, checkout, security). Analytics and marketing cookies are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time via the cookie-settings link in the footer. Our Cookie Policy lists each cookie, who sets it, why, and for how long.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, ask us to delete it, restrict or object to processing (including direct marketing), ask for it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any right, email sales@mutneys.com or use our Contact page. We will respond within one month.

9. Children

This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
